I strongly agree that commercial slaughter by-products of unknown origin should not be included in chickens' feed rations. However, people should be aware that chickens are not naturally vegetarian. They are avid recyclers, and will naturally supplement their diet with their own eggshells (if returned to them) and molted feathers. They also love to supplement their grass and grain with worms, bugs, and even mice or frogs if they can catch them. Sounds yucky to us, but it's yummy to them...and gives them the varied diet they need to be happy and healthy.

Can anyone give me an idea of where I can buy farm fresh, cruelty-free, ethical eggs in Kansas City? I'm seriously at a loss and I'm sorely disappointed.
